David is involved with the Dick Dischler Workshop in Palo Alto and has a number of awards from various shows in the San Francisco Bay Area. This past June David earned honors as Exhibitor of the Year in Photography at the San Mateo County Fair for having won the most awards in the photography division.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________The Community Gallery, located on the lower level of the Hall of Justice building will be showing “Entwined In Black and White”, a collection of photographs by Dan McLean. McLean is a San Carlos based photographer who, like many others, had been “taking pictures” since he was young. In 1990, the results of a workshop in Yosemite made him think, “Maybe I have some talent for making photographs.” Since then he has participated in many workshops with a focus on honing his photographic craft. The exhibit will run from January 7 to February 26, 2020.To Dan, photography is about seeing – interacting with the world around you. Whether the opportunity to make a photograph is responding to a fluid scene or quietly contemplating a studied composition, his intent is to make an image that viewers will respond to. This had led to an eclectic body of work – from early landscapes to a more recent focus on smaller compositions.A photograph starts with recognizing the opportunity, visualizing the composition and bringing artistic and technical skills to capture the image. Dan spent many years learning the fundamentals of composition and technical skills in workshops lead by accomplished photographers. For more information:Dan McLean: email@example.com
