What is Peninsula Resilience Planning?
San Mateo County, Atherton, Belmont, Brisbane, Burlingame, East Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay, Pacifica, and San Bruno are working collaboratively on the Peninsula Resilience Planning (PREP)
project. PREP is a project to study how natural hazards and climate
change will affect our communities and develop plans for a safer, more
resilient future. PREP includes preparation of climate change
vulnerability assessments for all participating communities and policy
updates to general plans for some participating communities.
How can you be involved?
Following our successful first round of workshops last year, we're
excited to invite you to participate in our upcoming virtual community
workshop. We’ll share our ideas about potential resilience strategies
and invite you to let us know your thoughts. This workshop will also
present findings from our vulnerability assessment. Your participation
and input on potential resilience strategies is crucial to helping us
build safer communities.
This event will be held online via Zoom and will include a presentation
of our vulnerability assessment findings, interactive polling, Q&A,
and small group discussions where community members can provide
feedback on proposed resilience strategies. Staff from participating
communities will also be available to answer questions and help guide
attendees through the discussions.
Your experience and expertise are important!
This is the next step in working with our local community to inform,
guide, and comment on the PREP project. Learn more about the project,
review results from our past virtual and in-person workshops and view
the interactive hazards map at the PREP Project website. Your input is
vital to this planning process, and we want to hear from you!
