Former Crestmoor High School Site |
300 Piedmont Avenue |
Project Description: 155 Single-family homes on the site of the former Crestmoor High School site, being developed by Toll Brothers. Project Update: Clearing and leveling of the entire site was completed earlier this summer. The sewer and storm drain lines are complete and crews are currently working to get the new water lines in the ground, then next they will install the underground electrical lines. As early as the end of November crews will start pouring sidewalks on the Courtland Drive extension through the property. The goal is to have the road open through the site sometime in early 2026. Click here to view an UPDATED panoramic drone image of the entire site As I shared here in the newsletter earlier this year, CalFire established new fire severity zones which council adopted for San Bruno in July. These updates designate the project site and most of the surrounding Crestmoor 3 neighborhood as in a “high” or “very high” severity zone. This has caused significant changes to site and home designs for this project, since new construction and renovations in such zones must adhere to Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) building codes and more stringent requirements for defensible space around homes. The sloped open space area between the site and Madison Avenue is in dire need of fire mitigation work, and this past week crews started clearing the 12 acre parcel, working to remove decades of undergrowth and trimming trees to raise the canopies above 10ft. Due to the terrain, this work must be done by hand by a crew of 15 using chainsaws. While this work will be noisy, this will benefit of the entire neighborhood and the contractor and the City appreciate everyone’s patience. The fire mitigation work is anticipated to take 2-3 months to complete. Parts of Courtland Drive and Whitman Way will be getting the existing 6” sewer upgraded to an 8” line to accommodate the new development. This work will start in the next few weeks, and the developer will communicate more information to impacted neighbors as they get closer to starting that work. Glenview Highlands Project |
2880 & 2890 San Bruno Avenue W, 850 & 860 Glenview Drive |
Project Description: 58 units across nine buildings. Solar all-electric, townhome-style condominium units, being developed by City Ventures. Project Update: As a condition of approval for this project, the City is requiring the developer to install a four-way stop with new crosswalks at the intersection of Glenview Drive and San Bruno Avenue. This uncontrolled intersection has long been hazardous for pedestrians and drivers alike and adding improvements to this intersection is long overdue. This work is now underway and crews will work to install flashing beacons and add new signage. We expect the intersection update to be complete in the coming weeks. The Crossings: Auto Dealership |
1010 Admiral Court (next to Jack's Restaurant) |
Project Description: United
Contractors, Inc. is building the new home for the Hyundai &
Genesis auto dealership, which is currently occupying a temporary
facility at the nearby former Sears site, across El Camino at Tanforan.
This new multi-story automotive dealership and service center will
include two basement levels and three levels above grade. Project Update: Construction has reached Level 5, which will serve as both the roof and the final level of the dealership, doubling as parking space. To date, crews have poured approximately 11,000 cubic yards of concrete, equivalent to 1,100 concrete trucks. The construction team is currently preparing the two lower levels below ground for installation of a car wash and the start of finishing work. The developer is looking forward to starting the exterior finishes shortly after the new year. This will transform the concrete structure into the new Hyundai and Genesis dealerships.
