Update: Transition from San Bruno CityNet to Xfinity |
The
transition from San Bruno CityNet to Xfinity began this week as the
first batch of customer letters began arriving in mailboxes this week.
Comcast is transitioning the system node by node across the City, so
not all residents will receive letters at the same time. Each letter
includes a comparison of the current CityNet pricing to an equivalent
Xfinity offer and outlines a 30-day transition window. Once you receive
your letter (if you are a current CityNet customer), you can reach out
to Comcast to see what other Xfinity plans and promotions are available
at 855-206-1261. You
can also call this number if you haven’t received your letter and would
like to have a general idea of when your home will have access to
Xfinity services. Comcast
also just released a short video featuring Jose Sainz, a longtime San
Bruno resident and one of their Technical Operations Supervisors. Jose
is playing a key role in the transition, and you can watch the video here. An earlier video highlighting San Bruno's transition to Xfinity is available here. For full details on the CityNet-Xfinity transition please visit https://www.xfinity.com/sanbruno |
Update on the Former Engvall School Site at 2101 Sneath Lane |
In
2017, the San Bruno Park School District agreed to sell the 21-acre
site of the former Engvall Intermediate School at 2101 Sneath Lane to
Pulte homes, who planned to develop 118 single-family homes. That deal
sat in escrow for many years until finally earlier this year Pulte
pulled out of the deal and the property once again went on the market.
We learned that a new developer, City Ventures, is now under contract
with the school district and in their due diligence period for the
property. City Ventures is the same company developing the
Glenview Highlands project at San Bruno Avenue and Glenview Drive, and
is working with staff to set up meetings to discuss engineering issues.
There
is no project application yet so we do not yet have information about
the type and size of development they are considering for the site; I
will include updates about the project in future newsletters as we
learn more in the coming months. |

Southline Project Construction Update and Upgraded Landscaping on Huntington Avenue East |
The
City of SSF Southline Development Project is nearing completion of
street improvements to Huntington Avenue and Sneath Lane, near the BART
station. The project is currently completing final paving, striping and
testing and activating the new traffic signals. The
Project has also installed new upgraded landscaping between Huntington
Avenue East and Huntington Ave. at the request of residents of the
adjoining neighborhood. The developer installed higher hedge plants
which will grow fuller and taller for better screening of Huntington
Avenue. The plans were reviewed and approved by the Community Services
Department for maintainability as the City be maintaining these new
plants. |
