San Bruno Library Seeks Volunteers

Volunteer
FLibrary volunteers support, supplement, and enrich the Library’s efforts to serve the community.
Requirements:
14 years old or older
Submit an online volunteer application OR print and complete the
volunteer application and return completed form to the Library in
person, by mail, or by email at sbpl@plsinfo.org
Submit a clear TB test within the last 2 years
Attend a volunteer training
Dedicate a minimum of 2 hours per month; be able to work with children and others

Volunteer Programs
Reading Buddies is a program where you help children one-on-one to improve their reading skills and build confidence.
In the Craft Crew group, you'll collaborate with other teens to plan
and carry out family programs and collaborative art displays.
You can pick one or be involved with both for more volunteer hours!
Requirements
Rising 9th Graders to 12th Graders
Fill out a volunteer application
Submit a clear TB test within the last 2 years
Attend a volunteer training
Reading Buddies - Tuesday, June 2: 11 AM - 12:30 PM
Craft Crew - Thursday, June 4: 11 AM - 12:30 PM
If you cannot make these dates, please email Audrie to schedule a training the week of June 8-12
Dedicate a minimum of 2 hours per week from June 15 to August 8
Be able to work with children and others
Other Opportunities
HOMEWORK CENTER
Under the direction of the Homework Center Supervisor, Homework Center
Volunteers assist children in the San Bruno Library Homework Center
with homework, and special projects such as 3D printing and Wednesday
afternoon STEAM activities. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect
children with Library resources and provide a welcoming environment
where students can complete homework and achieve academic success.
Qualifications:
Patience and kindness
Interest in helping kids with their homework and seeing improvement over time
Open to Teens and Adults (at least 14 years old, 9th grade and up)
Negative TB test result
For those 18 and over, LiveScan background check arranged through the Library with San Bruno Police Department is required
Availability for 2 hours/week, Monday through Thursday, during Homework
Center open hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 2:30 PM - 6 PM; Wednesday
1:30 PM - 6 PM)
Able to complete Homework Center Volunteer training
Able to commit for at least one semester
MAKERSPACE
Every 3rd Thursday of the month from 3 PM - 5 PM. Assist public with 3D printing, Cricut, and other STEAM activities.

Friends of the San Bruno Public Library
In addition to volunteer opportunities within the Library, the Friends
of the San Bruno Public Library is seeking people who can dedicate a
few hours per week on an ongoing long term basis. Contact the Friends
at SanBrunoFriends@aol.com to see how you can help.
Current opportunities with the Friends include delivering children's
books to the Little Library sites, publicity and scanning books.
