As families prepare for the new school year, I invite you to join Senator Josh Becker and me for an Immigration Forum and Community Resource Fair on Saturday, August 15, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the City of San Mateo. This free event will provide an opportunity to learn about recent immigration policy changes, including updates on H.R. 1 and how they may affect access to programs such as Medi-Cal, SNAP, and other essential services. Attendees will hear from legal experts, community organizations, and local service providers who will share information about available resources and answer questions from the community. After the forum, attendees are invited to visit our Community Resource Fair to connect directly with organizations serving immigrant families. The Resource Fair portion will also feature a Backpack Giveaway for students and families, generously supported by Samaritan House, while supplies last. Spanish interpretation will be available throughout the event. Featured organizations include:
