Over
300,000 people visit Coyote Point each year, making it the second
most-visited park in the San Mateo County Park system. Close to urban
centers, with epic bay views, Coyote Point is a gem of a park! It
is loved by windsurfers, kite-flyers, plane-watchers and more. Coyote
Point is home to a marina, CuriOdyssey, Magic Mountain Playground
and lots of picnic areas and walking trails. The Bay Trail cuts through
the park.
Coyote Point is the recipient of $1
million in federal funds at the request of U.S. Rep. Kevin Mullin.
The funds will help replace the aging Magic Mountain playground with a
new, inclusive design that is accommodating to all ages
and abilities. This gift is timely as the rest of the park is ready for
some focused love and attention.
The community is invited to weigh in on two concepts that could be implemented in the beach, knoll and marina areas of the park. The ecology concept includes more nature-based elements while the activity concept features more structured elements. What would you like to see more of?The survey will close Thursday, Sep. 5 at 5 p.m. |
