SUBJECT:    Arrest for Grossly Negligent Discharge of a Firearm

On Friday, April 30, 2021, at 2:00 a.m., San Bruno Police Officers responded to the 600 block of Huntington Avenue, on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, Officers located several spent bullet casings in a parking lot.

During the investigation, Officers determined that an adult male suspect had discharged several shots from a handgun into the side of an unoccupied business. The male then fled the scene in a white vehicle. Officers checked the area but did not locate the suspect(s), or any victims of the shooting.

It was later confirmed that no injuries occurred as a result of the shooting.

While San Bruno Officers were investigating this incident, the South San Francisco Police Department also received several reports of shots fired in their jurisdiction. South San Francisco Officers contacted a suspect vehicle occupied by several subjects, and located a handgun and evidence related to this incident. South San Francisco Officers arrested a 20-year-old South San Francisco male resident for firearms related charges.

San Bruno Police Officers conducted a joint investigation and identified that male subject as the suspect in the San Bruno incident as well.

The subject was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City, by the South San Francisco Police Department for various charges.

The San Bruno Police Department also booked the male subject for charges related to grossly negligent discharge of a firearm which could result in injury or death, and illegal possession of a loaded firearm.
