Let's Beautify Our Schools This Spring

Spring is here, and it’s time for SBEF’s Community Pride Project Days at our schools!

Join us for a morning of rolling up our sleeves and beautifying our school campuses. At Allen, we’ll work on the new school garden. At John Muir and Portola, we’ll do painting and weeding projects. At Parkside, we’ll be beautifying the library and basketball court, and gardening around campus.

All ages & abilities welcome. Lunch & snacks will be provided to volunteers.

RSVP required.

San Bruno Park's 3rd Annual Lego Robotics Competition

Congratulations to all the students who participated in SBEF's and the District's 3rd annual Lego Robotics Competition on April 26!

Since January, over ninety 5th-8th graders met weekly to work in teams to design, build, and program their robots. At Saturday’s competition, these teams competed missions and could earn points for teamwork, accuracy, and number of missions completed.

Congrats to our competition winners, and thanks to everyone who participated and helped make the San Bruno Lego Robotics program happen!

We especially want to highlight the following individuals and organizations for supporting this successful STEM program:

  • Google/YouTube, Artichoke Joe‘s & matching community donors for helping SBEF support the afterschool Lego Robotics program and competition
  • Michelle Graham, San Bruno Park School District’s Coordinator of Student Services, for partnering with us on the Lego Robotics program
  • The volunteer judges from biotech company AbbVie and the Nueva High School’s robotics team
