What’s being considered for the Bay Area’s water heater rule?  

The Air District Board of Directors will consider proposed changes to the water heater rule (Regulation 9, Rule 6) at its November 4 meeting. 

The draft changes respond to community concerns and include: 

🏠 Exemptions for qualifying property owners facing financial or installation barriers 

🗓️ Delayed implementation to January 2028  The proposed amendments are subject to Board approval.
